Are You an Entrepreneur or a Wantrepreneur?
Choosing your own income, setting your own schedule and spending quality time with your family; these are just a few of the reasons being an entrepreneur is the best career available for women. In fact, I started my own business last year so that I could determine my own income and make money from anywhere in the world so that I could travel with my fiancé whenever we wanted. In the last 6 months alone I’ve traveled to Mexico, Las Vegas, Vancouver, and Westport, WA all while my business ran smoothly.
As wonderful as the entrepreneur dream is, it’s not always easy, especially in the first two years of business. It’s a struggle to think of a great business idea, then it’s hard to find customers to actually buy what you are selling and it’s even harder to not second guess yourself with every business decision you make. If you are struggling to start or grow your business, trust me, I know exactly how you feel.
I think that the hardest part for me was actually starting my businesses because it took a huge leap of faith in me. I had to go from being a wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur and that takes a lot of guts (and a little bit of crazy, to be honest) The second hardest part was keeping up my motivation even during tough times. Fortunately, I had a wonderful support system around me that kept me going even when my business wasn’t growing and I felt like quitting. And now, I want to be that support system for you!
